**UCI Class of 2024 Discussion Thread**

he found out today? congrats!

@collegefresh7364 I don’t think anything came out today.

Maybe scholarships today and for all of us regular on 20th same with ucla

Son got the below

  • UCI - CS - 1st major - Feb 14 - offered Regents (5K) and Dean scholarship (6K/2 yrs)
  • UCSD - Math-computer science - 2nd major - no scholarship news - mar 13th
  • UC Riverside - CS + 1 yr masters - 1st major - 10K in Regents - march 4th
  • UCSC - CS - 1st Major - Feb 28
  • UCD - math - math & scientific comp - 1st major
  • Cal SLO - waitlisted

almost looks like my DS acceptances in UCs (UCSD second choice with Math-CS).

still waiting on UCB (local for me). Which one you are interested so far?

Does anyone have a guess as to when UCI decisions will come out?

Maybe March 20 at 3pm?

I thought march 20 at 3PM as well.

UCI decision has come, my son is through for cs i can say

UCSD also, he got second major math-cs

i wish there is one system in decision with all UCs. they play.
If they accept one application, at least announce on one day

I am not how many parents get angry about this stupidity.

They play with parents anxiety. And students too

@kishorekp when did you get your UCI decision?

I am old for UC, its my son. he is dreaming about UCB, UCLA.

A bird in hand is twice in the bush.
Told my son, u r smart, make UCI next UCB…
everyone wants to be the sheep. how about go be the sheep and tread the path…
its not like UCI is untrodden, every idiot now wants to wear a jersy.

every son or daugther comes from some home, do we have jerseys as a family.

learn to live, only now in a different family. its only education.

no i want to be elite. so shed ego and use brains…u can beat anyone, or worst you can eat ears (Tyson)

Tom brady was a 4th pick …

@kishorekp I agree with you, the UC’s are very unpredictable in announcing their decisions, but as you also said, people have to wait and be patient, maybe taking an unconventional path to get to the top.

yes ohanaoh, i dont know to do in this forum. all links and and all, excuse me.

College names matter, there is no doubt.

what am arguing with my son is, is 80K more loan worth for what.

Great men or women became by their deeds not the college they come from.

In fact great men didnt go to college and established colleges and foundation and trusts.

I want my son do either be history or part or history or create history… not by paying money. by using money…and utilizing for goodness…not goddies…there’s not haloween party every day…

earn while u learn (not money, knowledge)

or end up like me, I am a big fan of impractical jokers.

Does anyone know if UCI will be doing the rolling admissions this year, or if it will be all at once?

its my son who is going to college. If u see the thread u will know the date

Out of curiosity, what does DS and DD mean, Is it dear son, and dear daughter.
i really dont know that acronyms. its kind of shameful.

@kishorekp found this: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/52585-abbreviation-thread.html

Darling Son, Darling Daughter. I think the D could be interchanged with other acronyms based on their attitude that day

Does anyone know what my chance of admission is?
I have a 4.16 GPA and 1220 on the sat.
So far I’ve been accepted to UCR, waitlisted at UCSD, and rejected from UCSB.

I applied undeclared does anyone think I have a chance? 1350 sat 3.85 gpa. Rejected from pepperdine ucsb ucsd ucd and got into ucr

@collegefresh7364 @ChancetoIRSD

You can look up the average admitted GPA and SAT scores for 2019 by major on this link to see how you compare.

Select Freshman GPA and SAT tab, then select Report type for the list of majors.

Academics are only part of the admission process so your EC’s and essays will also play a part in your decision which no one can quantify.
