she said its a pool of applicants and theres no ranking so I’m not sure how who gets accepted is decided she said it was a mixture of things
@Hopeful14567 omg sorry this is so late but it’s 3.8
@theScreen that’s so high, are you planning on appealing. Do you have a specific reason why you think you were waitlisted? I ask because my GPA is considerably lower.
Hey everybodayyyyy!!!
Waitlisted
Major: Data Science
Gpa: 3.83
prereqs: done
GE: done
By the way, some to most of us on the waitlist will be hearing in June. If you have been accepted to another school and if you don’t hear by the end of may, I recommend sticking with that school.
GO AGS!!!
I’m not sure why I was waitlisted but I heard the admission rate this year was 28% I want to appeal but I don’t know what to say besides repeating information?? Did you apply to informatics too? @Hopeful14567
@theScreen, I was an informatics major as well, but i got into CS at UCR so I’m leaning there. There is literally no point in appealing, and I imagine it’ll make us look impatient. What other schools did you get into.
I hope someone hears back sooner than later. Didn’t UCI overadmit last year for freshman and transfers? Maybe we’re the ones that get to suffer? xD
Is it even worth trying to appeal while on the waitlist?
@YourSenpai i mean whats the worst that could happen? Your appeal gets denied and you’re still on the waitlist. I f you really feel like you have NEW AND COMPELLING evidence, go for it
@YourSenpai, what would be the bases of your appeal?
@theScreen So is it like lottery?
Is there a way to see where we stand on the waitlist (what position we are in)?
@impatient117: No, there is no way to see where you stand.
my son was waitlisted to UCI Computer Game Science, had a 3.45 at CC and graduating with his AS hoping this thread can keep us in the loop when transfer decisions are released
People started getting accepted today, last year. Hopefully our decisions come out soon lol the uncertainty is killing me
@ayylmaoooo ahh really?? I thought since transfer students accept/decline their admissions by June 1st so waitlist decisions would only come after then??
My guess is they offer spots as they appear maybe. Like when people confirm that they aren’t attending.
@theScreen yeah!! according to this thread at least
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-irvine/1987797-uci-transfer-waitlist-2017-p3.html
ucsd and uci released a good amount of decisions before the SIR deadline last year and then some more after
then all the rejections at the end lmao
is anyone got off the waitlist yet???
does anybody know how UCI sorts late application appeal students? I got my late application approved and sent it on May 2nd… have not heard back yet. Definitely would like to hear back before June 1st
