Appeal

Is it a good idea to appeal when on the waitlist? For UCI…

If you have new and compelling information not originally noted on your application, then it is worth your time pursuing an appeal.

@Gumbymom Thank you very much!!! I would like to know if even without an appeal, would there still be equal choosing of getting off the waitlist. Is there a possibility for extra stuff like essays? Or people are already prenumbered on the waitlist no matter what? Thanks and sorry for the bombarding of questions!

@SakuyaNai: According the common dataset for the Freshman waitlist, it is not ranked but being a transfer I would imagine that transfers are ranked by major but UCI will not give you that information. Equal choosing off the waitlist probably is not possible since waitlisted students will be admitted based off the spots available by major. All you can do is assume that UCI is a rejection and move on to the other schools that accepted you. If you get admitted off the waitlist, then consider it icing on the cake and then decide if it is worth it to decline another schools admission.
