do you guys think there will be a wave of decisions tomorrow? because based on previous years the last week is usually rejections/waitlists.
@makaveli96 Yeah, I had the minimum physics requirement to apply. In the rejection letter it stated that bc of how competitive the school is, they now require the full physics sequence therefore your rejected basically lmao.
Is there like certain criteria regarding who gets accepted early or not ?(except tag and h2h) Or is it just random? I’m getting nervous

@kristinpete I got rejected last year. I cant tell you how heart breaking it was. This year i already got accepted into Cal Poly Pomona so I have a backup.
@Relentlessboi Wow. The worst part is that physics is never used in programming but yet almost every school requires it. I only applied to UCI for CS because it’s literally the only school that doesn’t require it. Hoping my gamble pays off

@makaveli96 Ironically, I had to drop my physics course this semester so I’m really really hoping to make it into UCI for the same reason. It’s currently my top pick. The whole physics sequence is only for engineering and not used in programming like you said. I had a C in the course and the instructor was horrible. He recommended that I visit the disability department bc I couldn’t finish his lengthy exams that were the hardest exams I’ve ever taken. When only about 12 out of 80 students ever did. I called CSUF and CSUN and they said it would be more appropriate to drop the course so that it wouldn’t drop my GPA below the requirement bc I’m considered, “Out of the area”
I’m hoping that since I’ve taken Calc III and have more than the required CS courses all with A’s that I’ll get accepted but we’ll see. GOOD LUCK!

@Relentlessboi That’s crazy! I’d be pissed if someone told me to visit the disability department. The instructors for these hard classes are horrible and it doesn’t help that for some of them only one person is teaching it and you have no choice. I wanted to apply to CSUN but the minimum transfer requirements weren’t very clear. Did you do every single lower division CS course thats listed on assist?
@makaveli96 Yeah I applied to CSUN because my cousin attended and it was a fairly nice campus and I needed some safety schools in case I didn’t get accepted anywhere else. For CSUN I had everything done except for the Physical/ life science requirement bc my counselors are also the worst at my CC. I know on assist the course articulation is weird for some CC’s. But generally, CS isn’t very competitive at CSUN from what I hear. My counselors at my CC were absolutely no help bc they told me it’d be very difficult to get into any school without finishing the science requirement as they looked up the assist for each one. I was actually shocked I got in.

Fell into this thread while looking at UCSB acceptances. I got accepted into UCI CS 2 weeks back but noticed there were lots of CS TAG still pending. Not sure why because my original thought was that if you meet the 3.4 GPA TAG requirements and req classes then it should pretty much be a guarantee. So not sure why lots of you are still in pending status? Here is hoping to see a lot more CS acceptances here soon…
