hey what are some fraternities to join? im interested but have absolutely no ideas about them. i heard some hazing process is crazy too.....

hmmm strong first post. you dont just join a fraternity like that. you have to make sure you pick one thats right for you (after researching all of them). and even then, its not as easy as saying “sign me up”. you have to earn a bid, which can take a lot of hard work. ive been through the pledging process of a fraternity (i wont say which) and gave up after the second week (and note that most fraternities have a “grace week”, where they dont really make you do much or do anything crazy to you, so technically I lasted one week). your grades WILL suffer and you wont have time for your normal group of friends. if its your first year, at least get a quarter out of the way before deciding to join a fraternity to get a feel for school and make a solid group of friends you can rely on.

im pledging again this quarter, and now that i know whats ahead of me, ill be ready. why am i doing it again? even though i quit after 2 weeks of pledging, those 2 weeks were the best weeks of my life.

I see… how much time do you think you would have to commit to a fraternity if you full pledged and stayed? like would they make you ditch classes and stuff?

theyll never “make u” do anything but it is a lot of work and your basically giving them your life for 10 weeks. besides class and sleep (which youll be lucky to get), youre gonne be working with your pledge bros doing some sort of assignment the fraternity has setup for u. free time is not gonna happen.

i quoted “make u” because they always find someway to get you do anything. i did a lot… hmm… odd things.
