Both seems to be good for software/computer engineering. But have not heard much about engineering successes of UCI. Pls give your inputs. Thanks
Cal Poly SLO has strong ties to the tech industry especially Silicon Valley. UCI will provide more opportunities to do research, increasing chances of going to a good grad school. If you hope to stay in academia as a career, UCI will provide more opportunities for you.
SLO. I’m at UCI engineering right now, they hardly have any company connections, 1 tutor, class sizes are 200-300, most students take Aderrall to pass classes, the counselors are not prepared nor do they have any experience in engineering or even know the rigor of the coursework, students do NoT work together. SLO is an amazing program and is recognized by many companies. In fact, a good friend of mine is a manager for a company in Irvine and does not recruit UCI engineering students, he only recruits from SLO.
