UCI professors?

I’ve been looking around and so far…I’m getting that the professors don’t care much about teaching and most don’t even want to be there. Is this true? Especially the ones in the ICS department?

Probably true for most faculty at R1 schools where tenure and promotion are all about publications (and grantsmanship) and nothing about teaching.
