Assuming I meet all the requirements for TAG would I be able to TAG to UCI but take a gap year before I transfer(Not taking any classes fall or spring)? I wanted to TAG to UCI for Computer Science. I still need Linear Algebra and one other CS class but I still meet Minimum TAG requirements does anyone know? Thank you 
Deferral- http://www.grad.uci.edu/admissions/admitted-students/index.html this is for regular admission however, so you’d probably have to confirm with admissions.
They will want a good reason for your deferral and they are judged on a case by case basis.
Otherwise, you’ll have to reapply the following year.
UCI only allows admits with compelling reasons (i.e. military, medical) to defer enrollment prior to their first quarter. Majors within the Donald Bren School of ICS are especially strict with this policy.
Consider a leave of absence after a student’s first quarter, which is generally acceptable, if you really need time off.
