UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

@hopefulhippo

Did you TAG?

yeah they definitely release decisions after 9am. My decision came around everyone else (right after UCBoundVet) around 4:30pm and i had checked around 2pm and there was nothing.

@hopefulhippo I’m a poli sci major as well and haven’t heard back yet. :(

@fkhan0: No, I didn’t. I was accepted out of high school (but then rescinded because of a D in AP French for my 1st semester of senior year). I have no idea if they take that into account at all, but I’m still pretty nervous because of my college GPA.

@kimmmy: What is your GPA? Good luck! Let me know if anything changes for you!

@hopefulhippo I’m at a UC so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. My gpa is a 3.5

Has anyone received a financial aid award offer/estimate yet on their “My Aid” page?

Decision: Accepted

Intended Major: Business Economics
TAG?: NO
IGETC?: Yes

Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): Full-time work, extensive career oriented leadership activities/positions, and two unusual “talents”. I’m being vague here on purpose to avoid identifying myself.
Additional Details: Excellent Essays

State (if domestic applicant): Yes
Country (if international applicant):
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Estimated Family Contribution(EFC)/Income Bracket: 324
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): No

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Lets be honest here, I wasn’t accepted for my GPA, hell I don’t think I’m even close to being competitive for my major. My extracurricular are why I was admitted, no doubt about it.

I thought although uci is holistic that things like personal statements and ecs are not a big factor.
(i hope not because I’m a bad writer and not much has changed in the two semesters Ive been at my CCC while not being in high school and not much extra curriculars to do in that time either haha)

For transfers they’re main focus is on GPA but I think in my case it was why they admitted me. I don’t mean to brag (and why should I with a 3.2 GPA?) but the extracurriculars I do at school and the stuff that I have to deal with outside of school more than make up for it. For instance, I moved out three months after graduating high school and have lived independently of my parents ever since.

Edit: I’ve also been admitted to UCSB and UCR, I’m still waiting on the other UCs.

Irvine is more holistic than many of the other UC’s (perhaps also even greater than UCLA?).

@HopingtoXfer
I know they are for freshman but I thought I read for transfers that personal statements don’t really make a difference except for tie breakers.
@Fall2013transfer, yea I wanted to do the honor program and some clubs but in order to get my IGETC an AA-t in psych and 33 units as well as doing all the recommended pre reqs for my major in two semesters I had a really set in stone schedule of what I had to do. haha but oh well if i dont get in I have another year to work and tag or just improve my stats i suppose.

Nothing here still. Just says file complete and to wait till mid-April. Hopefully it posts soon…

Any civil engineering major here?

Decision: Accepted

UC GPA: 3.67
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): No
Intended Major: Sociology
TAG?: No
IGETC?: Yes

Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): Full time work, student body government for one semester, volunteer at a convalescent hospital, 3 internships

@altezza CE is my alternate. Evironmental is my first choice. I don’t have pre-req’s complete. :-/ Dying hope for a miracle.

come on UCI…:frowning: why are you taking so long. Praying for tomorrow!

@altezza3363 I am. I will admit as a mechanical engineer and have to change major after that because I had to do the TAG for ME because of one missing chem

So they released decisions last Friday and this Wednesday… Hopefully they will release some more today, and keep the pattern of releasing at least once a week until they’re all done. That way we only have to wait “a week at a time”… Lol

Was there an option to declare a minor in the UC application? Can you just go ahead and do that after you’ve been accepted and when you start classes in Fall? Anyone know the process/procedure for that?

Yeah so not too many (if any) decisions released today yet??

still haven’t gotten anything yet. this is a little ridiculous!
