UCI Transfer 2014 decisions

All good points @smltk1505h‌. It also just occurred to me now, that UCB and UCLA delays may be in deference to the other UCs. You get into UCB or UCLA, you’re most likely to blow the others off before you even hear from them.

Hello, does UCI have a stats sheet somewhere that breaks down their acceptances by major? UCLA has this: https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof13_mjr.htm#CE

Just wondering if UCI has something similar?

@firstgenstudent They are still reviewing applications? Wow.

By the way, no non regent applicant has heard back yet?!

@xcyl40‌ it appears not. There has been a date of “April 18th” floating around but recently people have been saying that is incorrect (if you haven’t been reading this thread). Who knows what’ll happen.

“The budget cuts” must’ve taken a serious toll on the admissions office.

Not sure if this is true but I remember reading somewhere that the application summary will either say “We have received your Transfer application” or that they’re “We are reviewing your transfer application” something to that effect. Does anyone else’s application status say anything other than “we have received your transfer application”?

Mine says “We have received your transfer application”

Mine also says “we have received your transfer application”

Same.

What are your guys majors??

@blink8 Film & Media Studies, you?

same, computer science

Software Engineering

I just called and they said that they will be releasing decisions up until end of April… Apparently, 82,000 people applies! YIKES!

They only have 16,024 transfer app to go through. They’re done with the 66,426 freshman apps.

http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2014/fall-2014-applications-table1.pdf

My major is psb… And omg do they really have that much apps! I’m so nervous! What gpa do u guys think is competitive enough?

I asked about that, and they said 3.0! I was like O_O

3.0 for psb majors?? I’m social ecology which is the same school… o.0 if it’s really 3.0 then I think we’re okay @WhiteTiger84

I asked what the avg admit GPA was for transfer students and the admissions rep said 3.0 GPA to be competitive. I’m so surprised. I also just got off the phone with UCSD and they didn’t really give me a lot of information like UCI.
