Have any of you applied for housing yet?! I have not submitted my SIR yet, waiting for UCSD appeal result…I’m just curious what’s next after SIR, and when to apply for housing, when to take units for Fall etc. I know google is out there lol, but I wanna know what others are planning to do…

EDIT: oh wait, not Mike194 lol (phone did some autocorrect thing). I meant @Mik194 ^^ (previous post)

@bolandgoo, if you get into UCSD, are you going to go there?

@bhav007:
You know that’s going to be tough now…before getting rejected by UCSD, I never really did any research about UCI…now that I’ve been looking into it for a few weeks, I find it a good school for me. Some counselors I talked to were saying very good things about it, and that OC is the Silicon Valley of SoCal(well, I guess everywhere in SoCal wants to be another SV lol) and there are many internships available for CS students blah blah…I looked at their housing, and it’s really better than UCSD in my opinion. It’s more expensive, but they have many single furnished rooms available in a nice area which is what I’m looking for…it’s closer to LA too(where my family lives).
But again, I would find it very hard to reject UCSD…it’s been the school I’ve been looking to get into since last year, finished all its pre-reqs for it…and I love the city!
I have to see what happens…I kinda lean toward UCI for accepting me though, all others rejected me for foreign transcript issue, for nothing…so I’m like the hell with them. lol

@bolandgoo Thanks for not referring to Orange County as The O.C.

I’m in the process of applying for housing. I just don’t understand how it works with the financial aid package lol

@drew26 I though you were waitlisted?

Oh crap wrong thread, I meant for ucr

btw does anyone have an idea of how a waitlist works? Do transfer have priority?

@collegedropout: no problem, I realize that’s a sensitive subject on this thread! ;)

Has anyone received their packet yet?

Start to doubt if there will be ANY packet at all…

Seriously. It’s been almost a month at this point. It doesn’t seem like there will be an admit packet at all.

Anyone not from the area? People keep asking me why I chose UCI if I am not from the area…

@ccnube, where are you from? I’m from norcal (bay area), and I’m still deciding between schools (davis vs uci)

@bhav007. I’m a dad, daughter @UCI. Son at UCR, and a UCI grad, UCI hands down! I grew up in NorCal and live there now and I do a lot of business in Davis, since it’s fairly likely your job prospects will be near where you graduate from, Orange County can’t be beat, almost unaffected by the recession ( comparatively, ) Far more employers in the area in a very diverse economic region. Best weather in CA, great campus. Higher wages Unless your going to major in AG science or be a veterinarian - UCI is a better choice

@CollegedadUCI87, idk, I’m leaning towards Davis tho, lol. I guess the fact that it has a collegetown and that the city of Davis revolves around the students sounds cool. They are also offering me around $3800 more than UCI.

Anyone on here already SIR to another UC and plan on changing should they be accepted to UCI?

ME! @moniiique hahaha

@drew26 hahaha thanks! I never would have known :p

still no admit packets in the mail huh?
