UCI vs. Cal Poly Pomona

Hi Ive been accepted to both colleges. In UCI Ive been accepted as a computer science and engineering major and at Cal Poly Pomona, Ive been accepted as a computer science major. So Im basically wondering what are the pros and cons of each university, all i know so far is that Pomona is a little cheaper but I like UCI's campus much more. So which one should I choosee

I heard that cal poly pomona has a better engineering department, and of course the pro side of a cal state is the cheaper tuition. So in cal poly, you’ll get a better education in engineering plus a cheaper tuition. UCI’s pro is just that is has the word “uc” in it so it’ll be more recognizable i guess. Congrats on your acceptance to uci! I’m still waiting for mine :(

I’ve heard pomona is in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing to do there.

Cal Poly Pomona sucks. UCI is where it’s at. Pay a little more and get the most out of the UC system.

UCI. If it were Cal Poly SLO, then it’d perhaps be a different story.

Ok so it seems to be UCI but Im still wondering??
Is UCI worth the extra money??
Which has a better computer science program??
Which has a better campus?
Which has a better location?
Which has better academics?
Which has more clubs and activities to do on and off campus?
Which has the better social and campus life?

if i were you, i’d go to uci because its just more well rounded.
cal poly pomona has a computer science program because its more connected to the engineering facility.
the campus would depend on your personal preference. i like uci because it’s more clean and quiet.

UCI has more females (good thing if you’re a guy like me), better location, more prestigious name, better for graduate.

CPP has hands on learning, rigorous engineering program from what I’ve heard, 85% chance of finding a job within 6 months after graduating since employers love to hire from there.

I’d personally go with pomona cause that 85% employment in 6 months is verrrrrry tempting :)
