UCI vs UCSB for Economics? HELP!

Which is better for Economics? Knowing this, which would you prefer? I have been accepted to both and am having a tough time deciding between the two. For UCI I have been accepted for Economics, not Pre-Econ, and many of my friends are going there. However for UCSB it will be a new experience, and I LOVE the surrounding area. Another factor is how much financial aid either school will give me.
This is tearing me up inside!

Any opinions, insights, or answers would help greatly!

I don’t think one is significantly better than the other. UCSB’s econ&accounting is very popular. Is this what you applied for? Or just econ? Do you want to do economics? Accounting? Finance? etc.

Sorry for the late reply, but I applied for just Economics and got in for Pre-Economics. I was looking to go into Marketing.

It’s really a toss-up IMO. SB econ probably has the edge. But I don’t think that’s enough to base a decision off of. Your best bet is to visit both schools, try to talk to some econ majors and/or professors.

I did this with UC Davis man. econ. I reached out to other man. econ students to find out how the program is.

Here’s a thread I just came across in the UCI section:

It’s a couple years old and it’s business econ but should be somewhat relevant.
