biochem has dropped 10% this year!

Look at Global Study!!!!!!!!!

One person I know of made fun of that major, saying that it is a major made for losers cannot get into UCLA otherwise, but the change in this yr will shut his mouth up big time, lol!

What the heck. Communication Studies stats stayed the same.

I wanted to see that everyone that got in was better than me GPA-wise to feel better about getting rejected, lol. Oh well.

woman of troy,

I know someone who qualified for the summer olympics and had 3.8+ and they got denied admission for econ because of some error in the system. u should ask admissions about that

I feel bad for the guy that applied to Portuguese.

Also, I tried putting in 07 in the URL to compare and it looks like there's a lot more data, unless I'm remembering wrong. Check it out: https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof07_mjr.htm

Holy **** @ D|MA...
dropped 5%

I quit life.

Damn, you're right mattn...that guy that applied to Portuguese got owned. He did have a 2.79 though. :-

a pretty big drop compared to last year. If this drop rate keep going, UCLA will become harder than Cal in general.

mattn-they can't compile the complete data the 07 page has yet for 08 because the SIR is still open to complete.

Cal's overall admit rate dropped by 5% this year making it pretty damn close to the freshman admit rate.

still think admit rate is pretty high, 50% for a lot of majors

anyone have the link to the cal stats for this years transfers?

does anyone know...if i want to get into med school in general (in UCLA, or any part of the world). does my bachelor's degree matter? because ive seen somewhere actually that a science related degree is not required for application to med school.

also, does anyone know the difference between this 3 bachelors?

Biology
Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics
Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology

thanks in advance!

Interesting, if you look at Geophysics/Applied Geophysics, only 2 people applied, one got in. The average applicant GPA was 3.31, and the average admit GPA was 3.01. So, the one that got in with a 3.01 beat out the 3.6... I wonder what the reason was (did the higher GPA not have complete pre-reqs... did the 3.01 person have rawsome essays?).

I like looking at this chart. nerd moment

One person was admitted as undeclared

Oh, I know they can't complete all the enrollment data for this year, but they didn't have it for last year until just now and they don't have it up for any of the other years. It's neat to see the yield rates and stuff

Why doesn't Berkeley have stats like this!?!?

Because UCLA is hawesome

WOW.

Global Studies changed so much:

2007: 134 applicants, 81 admitted (60.45% admit rate), Average GPA admits: 3.49

2008: 152 applicants, 51 admitted (33.55% admit rate), Average GPA admits: 3.73.

The admit rate almost HALVED!

Makes me feel good about getting in to the major :)

Too bad I'm going to Berkeley!

Wow, BusEcon and Econ have average GPA admits of 3.82, and consider the number of people that got in...!
