UCLA Admitting Fewer Low-Scoring Applicants

According to yesterday's Daily Bruin article, UCLA is significantly eliminating more sub-1000 admits, down to 191 for last year:

<a href="http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/news/articles.asp?id=32634%5B/url%5D">http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/news/articles.asp?id=32634</a></p>

I think The Los Angeles Times reported that too. It was due to Regent Moore's comments last year I believe, criticising Berkeley's acceptance of below 1000s.

hmmm...that explains a lot of the UCLA rejections at my school...in the top 20 two people (IB Diploma Candidates), had 1000 SAT's and were rejected...SAT scores are relatively very low at my school for some of the top ranked people (1100-1300 range), leading to some upsets about acceptances...

do understand that 191 is not a lot... consider the HUGE athletics programs at ucla... not to say that ucla athletes are dumb, cuz they arent, but i can safely assume that among this 191, there are a lot of athletes

That's a good point.

That's a very good point that ive never thought of.
