I'm applying for the Alumni Transfer Scholarship, and I'm considering using an essay from my application for one of the prompts. It is a very similar essay prompt:

"Reflecting on your personal experiences or circumstances, tell us something about yourself not already or sufficiently communicated in your application that distinguishes you as a scholarship candidate."

and I think I wrote a strong essay that helped me get into UCLA since my stats aren't as good as many other students. However, I also think my essay was a bit of a gamble and really hit the whole "overcoming adversity" stride. It reveals a lot of my personality, but also a lot of struggles I've dealt with, which I'm not sure if the Alumni Scholarship is looking for. They seem very focused on leadership strengths and I'm not entirely sure if showing weakness in the essay is a good idea.

Does anyone have any experience in this? Do you think if my essay worked for admittance, it is safe enough to submit for the scholarship?

Thanks!
