Okay, so sometimes I feel really good about my UC application, and then other times I feel like "oh crap, I'm not going to get in! :(" I know everyone wants to go there, but one reason I'd like to attend UCLA is because of their colorguard! I've heard/read of the marching band appeals, when the director helps a student get in, but I don't know if this can apply to the colorguard as well? I've been spinning at my high school and I'd like to continue with it, and I have heard that the colorguard often actually needs more members. So anyway, do you guys think that if I do get rejected in March, but I contact the marching band director about an appeal so that I could spin with the guard, then they could possibly reconsider?
(I honestly do want to be in the UCLA colorguard :) )

I think (think, mind you) that it's possible to talk to the Band Director(s) about helping with appeals. You should check out the Bruin Marching Band website to see if they have more info.

P.S. I'm thinking I'm gonna join the Band as a sousaphone!

I found this under the FAQ's of the website:
9) If I am not admitted to UCLA, is there anything the Band can do to help with my appeal?
Contact Marching Band Director Gordon Henderson to see if he can do anything for you.

I just wanted some input from anyone here before I bothered the Director. ^_^

Well there you go.

What do you spin?
