UCLA appeals class of 2023

Hi. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for easing my stress. I’m from Texas. I applied and didn’t get in. And I submitted my appeal on April 13th. It’s been about 6 and a half weeks and haven’t heard anything. I heard not hearing is better than hearing. I’m hopeful that I’ll hear back soon. I will let y’all know if so. Have a wonderful day and good luck!

just got rejected to ucla again, ive wanted to attend this school for so many years and now i am sad again
my high school graduation is coming up and now that i know im not going i feel discouraged again. i understand that it does not matter where i go, but i cant help but feel sad

@urlocalreject it is natural to feel disappointed and sad at this time. However, once school is over and summer is underway and you start planning to move into the college you will attend, you will begin to feel better. Eventually, you will enjoy your college, the new classes you will explore and the new friends you will make. All the best to you!

@urlocalreject So sorry to hear that. If you don’t mind me asking. How’d you find out? Did you get an email first or did you just check the portal? I’m too nervous to check.

Update: check the online portal today and was rejected. I didn’t receive an email stating that there was a status update. So I’m assuming if you don’t get an email that means it’s a no. Anyways I’m doing fine, I plan to go to California community college for two years then transfer. Good luck y’all!

@kaical00 I heard that UCLA takes a majority of transfer students from Santa Monica Jr College. Not sure if that is true but when we were in the process of appealing this was one suggestion made to us. The person who guided us in our appeal letter also gave us this advice. I feel like she knows what she is talking about. Good luck

@TwoforT which others did you appeal to?

@CalifMom3 you would be surprised the huge amount of SMC students getting rejected from UCLA in the past few years, it does not guarantee an acceptance anymore, the fame SMC once had for an easy transfer to UCLA is long gone.

@Doodlesack UCSB and UCI both rejected as well. My son will be going to UCSC in the fall.

Anyone still waiting? I am…I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing :frowning:

@Doodlesack thanks for correcting my misinformation. The person who told me this went to UCLA back in 2012- current (she’s in grad school now). I guess there’s no guarantee anymore.

@christyb17 I checked my portal. I’m guessing if you do not receive an email, this means that you got rejected
