Which of the schools listed above, would you all believe be best for someone planning on going to medical school while majoring in psychology?

Granted, each person is different and the PERSON really makes the school in my opinion. However with that being said, which would YOU choose.

NOTE: this person will be transferring from a community college to these institutions.

Also, if you have any other recommendations of schools not listed that are in these institutions league in terms of admissions competitiveness, please list them if possible. THANKS!

The last rankings I could find actually confirmed my first thoughts looking at the list:

Undergrad Psych programs – UC-B > UCLA > JHU > NYU

For preparing for Med School all 4 are excellent overall.

[Ranking of U.S. Undergraduate Psychology Programs](Ranking of U.S. Undergraduate Psychology Programs)

If you aren’t from California that make admission to the UC’s difficult to say the least and as expensive as the privates. If you are Californian then in my opinion go to one of the Instate, get an excellent education, and save a bit of money for the next level UNLESS you just want to go out of state or can grab a large scholarship to offset the cost. Stanford has been ranked #1 for Psych just about forever (why does it seem totally predictable that 4 of the Top 12 are in California!)

Thanks for your input. I should have posted this in there:

If cost was NO issue*****

Assuming Stanford/Yale is on the radar – on that list I go with Berkeley if you really want a great UG basis in Psych.

U Michigan is also a Top 5+ UG Psych program and Top 3 Grad program with an excellent (pre) Medical preparation.
