Had an awesome time! Lots of walking but the event was well organized and showed off the wonderful aspects of the school. The weather, while a tad on the warm side, really showcased our wonderful SoCal climate and I’m sure helped some kids decide. During the dorm tours many students and parents alike were concerned about the lack of AC in the triple classics. In the room we visited it wasn’t a real big deal…slightly warmer than a climate controlled 71 degree thermostat could provide… but with fans was completely fine. Common areas had ac and were quite nice. Rooms are small but that was to be expected. We live in northern San Diego county and the trip up was quite quick with no traffic. Hitting the 405 coming south was another story! Overall loved the visit and glad we made the trip up.
@sandiegodad2017 Don’t worry too much about the dorms - our son put classic triple as his first choice last year and ended up with an A/C plaza. So you get what they give you. Worked out just fine. You’ll learn to hate that stretch of 405 between LAX and Wilshire and basically most of 405 on the way home.
@youcee Yeah, traffic was pretty bad but nothing we didn’t expect being native southern Californians. . My daughter did put classic triple as her first choice…hoping she get’s that…close to $3k cheaper than the plaza triple.
@sandiegodad2017 @youcee I think classic triples are the best dorm type on campus purely because of the social ness of it.
