thx for replying guys... I am still checking checking and checking ,hehe~
They said some ppl have got Haas already? I guess das cuz of Haas is usually faster than any other schools in Cal, while our BIZ ECON department is the slowest one in UCLA=(

Hey linda, may I ask your stats?

oh,,ok~
BIZ ECON
GPA 3.92 (transferable)
some school activity.
foreign country college experience.
will finish IGETC this semester
doing Calculus 2 and English 2 this semester

wow, my stats are almost identical, including the foreign country and calc/ engl 2 this semester...good luck to you and me :)

nothing yet from UCLA, my friend got denied to biz/econ with TAP but he only had like a 3.2-3.3ish... they are weeding out the flakers so far.

I was reviewing the requirements for Biz Econ (from UCLA page)

"To be considered for this major, all of the preparatory courses listed here must be completed.

* one course in microeconomics
* one course in macroeconomics
* two courses in calculus (from the math/physical science sequence)
* one course in English - critical reading and writing (composition and literature)

*Demand for this major significantly exceeds space available. You must be admitted directly into this major; you will not be able to change to this major after admission to UCLA. Students are classified as pre-business economics until they complete the preparation courses."

It seems, that English 2 doesn't matter in the admissions process, that's good news for me and some other people like linda I guess. It also clearly indicates that they won't even consider people who didn't take all those classes...

hah,yeah,,,,
but who knows what their exactly standard for admission is! sigh,,,,,all we can do is WAIT...

w00t i have all the courses finished.. hopefully thats a good thing :)

I just called the econ department, no wait, friendly lady:

She said the counselors are working on the decisions right now and they will most likely release them all at once. She said most likely on Monday.

here is the number: (310) 825 1011 . If someone else wants to get more information give it a shot

funny, kind of lame story.

around 2am i checked my admission status for ucla and instead of the usual "thank you blah blah blah still pending" i saw "the admission site is closed" except i only read the closed part and somehow i associated closed with rejected. My heart literally stopped and i think i almost had a heart attack.. then i came to my senses and realized it was 2 am lol..

I applied under plain vanilla econ, monday you say? Im ok with that.

We'll see, my guess it tuesday or wednesday though.

I'm pretty confident in Monday, but if not, at least Cal will be out. Are most of you guys also applying for Cal? Econ or Business?

Econ over here. I figured Haas would just be way too hard.

Im applying to Haas as Bus admin and UCLA as normal econ.

Econ too, Chances to get in should be somewhat similar to UCLA bizecon I guess, right?

negatory maxx... biz/econ is more competitive

really? I didn't know that, the admit rate is usually like 18% for bizecon, thought it was similar for Cal Econ, but that's good to know, as of now, I'm leaning towards Berkeley anyway.
If I get into both (which I don't expect) it would still be a tough decision...what do other people think? UCB econ or UCLA bizecon? and why?

ucb econ because seriosuly wether you guys want to admit it or not, gettting and degree from cal is so much better looking than a degree from ucla and seriously the city is so kick ass, if you love weird intelectual people that are usually homeless go to berleley, you will have the best time just walkin around telegraph ave and talking to a bunch of people

the reputation and the area is what attracts me too, but UCLA biz econ is an awesome program...
