<p>I live near berkeley, which is the only thing that makes me want to go to UCLA. I know Berk seems like this awesome, totally intellectually stimulating place, but in reality those bums are still bums, and its not very clean. The only reason i would consider UCB is because of the prestiege. i mean, going to the most famous university in the world is pretty impressive.</p>

<p>also, i think i'll have problems fitting in. I'm not exactly the intellectual type, in fact i hate school. My friends at berkeley also talk about all the competition / studying, not my ideal place.</p>
<p>Ucla sounds more of a mixture of work + fun.</p>

<p>good point hobo, I'm not really that kind of guy either, but it's only 2 years, and I can deal with the competition. Gotta really adjust though, CCC didn't require much studying, no matter where I end up, it's not gonna be easy...</p>

<p>Well, the only reason I say that is I read this article a while ago about the most famous universities, and because UCB has been in so many movies and it's a very multinational university it was said to be the most famous. Not necessarily the best, but the most famous.</p>

<p>well, name recognition and the quality of instituions are two very different things. UCLA is known throughout the world because of their good engineering / medical programs and their sports team. A lot of people don't know about UPenn (hell i didn't even know it was a good school until about a year ago) but i'd take Penn over ucla anyday.</p>
