I was just recently accepted into UCLA (congrats to everyone else in the Class of 2021) and I have a few questions about the different econ. major tracks. I’m looking to focus on finance and work in an IB, VC, or a hedge fund. I’m currently in Pre-Business Econ.
- Which of the two are more respected by recruiters (financial firms)? Does UCLA econ. have a good reputation?
- What is the level of competition like?
- I heard that there is some level of dislike towards kids who pursue social sciences in UCLA, is this true?
- Are there any tips / insight you could give me and other students in my position about these majors?
Thanks and Go Bruins!
