It’s 4pm in Houston… This wait is obnoxious!! My daughter only applied to SDSU and UCLA. She is graduating a year early and I haven’t heard how they take into account the obnoxious course load that she is enduring… 6 AP courses this year and 3 classes outside of school… Hope she gets in to UCLA but if not, SDSU her she comes!

The wait is terrible-- I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this kind of nervous energy. Ever.

@2018dad That’s awesome haha! I’m more of a Jaguar guy, but Bimmers are cool too. Even though a 535i (F10) costs about 100k USD here, it’s probably the most popular luxury car brand in the country. They’re so low!

UCLA did not post ANY Decisions Yet,so idk why some are following the roomer lol

Time to check the portal! My son was accepted!!

sorry- I thought I was on the UVA thread- UCLA has not posted yet

I know the decision will be posted within the next 3-4 hours, but I can’t help but check every few minutes!

@CocoTX
Wow, that’s a hard load.

The Indian caste system was abolished a long time ago. Today, it’s turned into a scam. The upper and the middle castes come into one category called ‘open’. While the ‘backward classes’ are split into a million categories. There is reservation for the backward classes everywhere, right from office clerk posts to the topmost education institutions of the country and even in politics (yes, electoral constituencies are reserved for backward classes)
Personally, it is a good attempt to uplift the backward classes. But the thing is the only people of the backward class that get an advantage are the richer ones. And even worse, that other than Hindus, every religion is considered a minority. So despite the fact that India has the world’s third largest Muslim population, they ironically remain a minority there, and hence are entitled to these reservation privileges. Same goes with Christians too. Making this a political issue is absolutely impossible, completely unimaginable - a nightmare for even the most anti-reservation crusaders-turned-politicians. So in India, 60% of the population is the bloody

Why are we having Indian caste system discussions here ? I think it’s irrelevant for this thread.

Haha I jumped straight to the last page and was completely confused for a second, had to look at the previous pages for a moment.

Been accepted to South Carolina University, NYU, and University of Michigan. I am an out-of-stater and I had a lower chance of getting into U of M (in-state though) and got in. Think I have a shot?

being waitlisted by UVA…don’t really think I would have a chance though.
Is LA harder or UVA harder to get in?

Sorry guys, we were completely off topic.

I mean there’s really not much else to do but wait anyway…

OPTIMISM GUYS :D

UVA had higher acceptance rate in the past.

@cptbtptp41 are you from VA/CA/another state? If oos for both and applying to l&s, uva is harder to get into.

Does UCLA have a waitlist?

Yes, according to Ms. Sun, they do. It seems not many get admitted from it, though.
