[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Not much obviously haha. I guess just that I am from California? Engineering was too competitive this year, I obviously didn’t fit the bill.
[] Weaknesses: My SAT and SAT II Math scores were very low compared to the other applicants, but I was hoping my decent ACT would help; obviously not. I think I also didn’t have enough extracurriculars related to my major/didn’t show enough passion.
[] Schools were you accepted/waitlisted to? UCSD, UC Irvine (CHP), SDSU (Honors), and Macalester College
[] Schools you were rejected from? UC Davis, Harvey Mudd, Cal Poly SLO, & now UCLA
[li] Schools you are waiting for? UC Berkeley, Cornell, Penn, Yale, and University of Michigan[/li][/ul]General Comments: I’m upset I didn’t get in as UCLA was the “easiest” school I had left to hear from, and I was already disappointed from not getting in to Cal Poly or Davis. I really don’t know how else I could have showed my passion, but I’m upset because UCLA was really a big dream of mine, and I really like the school a lot. Every time I imagined college, I imagined myself there. I also am upset because I now am not even that interested in Mechanical Engineering, I should have applied for Electrical Engineering if any engineering or some other physical science. Anyway, the decision is now made, so I’ll have to live with it, but it was certainly disappointing. All the advice I can give is to just show passion in what you do, and get involved in things that are related to what you wanted to do. It was just a tough year to apply with the other 92,000 applicants I guess now I just have to sell myself on UCSD.
