haha I just received the Feel at Home email at 6:00
Based on my observations, the “Feel at Home” e-mail was sent to people at different times depending on location. I really don’t think it has anything to do with your chances of getting admitted, I think it’s simply one of many e-mails that UCLA sends out to people who subscribe to their mailing list.
Just got the Feel at Home email at 10pm est, and for anyone who didn’t see my earlier post, I’m a New York applicant. Mine too says applicant@admission.ucla.edu.
It’s just an “advertisement” email (for lack of better word) that I don’t think means anything. Just to look at info about the campus. Nothing major at all.
I just delete these kinds of emails.
We delete them as well. Although probably wouldn’t risk unsubscribing from them.
I’m an intl. applicant and I got the Feel at Home email too. It’s very similar to the Explore Campus life emails and all. I don’t think there’s any correlation between that and whether you got admitted.
didn’t anyone get an email to the apply for the alumni scholarship? i’m looking at past threads and apparently getting an email to apply for this alumni scholarship means that the admissions committee liked your app a lot (and the invites to apply are apparently hand picked)
@allima I got an alumni scholarship application. Yes, apparently the recipients are picked by the admissions committee, but don’t worry too much. Thousands who don’t get the scholarship invitation are eventually accepted, and some who do get the scholarship invitation are eventually denied. I’m just hoping I don’t end up the latter :-??
The “Feel at Home at UCLA” email literally just came in for me this morning at 5. At first I got scared that it was just sent to accepted students, then realized that they are just releasing rounds of it to not make their system crash haha
past threads about the alumni scholarship say it’s the students that had the top scores (based on sat/act and gpa). and it says that people who still don’t get admitted after receiving the email to the scholarship is if they don’t have much extracurriculars
i’m taking the email to apply to the scholarship as a good sign! in past threads it says 70-80% of people who get scholarships get admitted.
How much is the alumni scholarship for?
@098lldd it says on the email $4,000-$20,000 paid over 4 years
hi everyone! I got the alumni scholarship email a while ago. Do you think I can still apply when the deadline is extended? I got an email from one of them saying that I should really fill out my alumni scholarship application, but I was not aware of the this extension to Feb 27th until I saw it on here.
the original deadline for mine was Feb 20th btw
the original deadline for mine was Feb 20th btw
do we absolutely need to get a rec letter in for the scholarship?
@allima yes the letter of rec is mandatory in order for the application tot be sent into the Alumni program
@Foodlover228579 - first verify the extension and date. My D applied before the 20th but I read after on cc that it was extended. Probably a good idea to verify with UCLA before going through the trouble. If they are still taking applications, than absolutely apply!!! You have nothing to lose but the time it takes. Good luck!

hm now that I look at this, maybe UCLA won’t come out on the 17th like previous years. They did have 100,000 applicants, so maybe thats why we get them late march?
They’ve had 100,000 before tho. I don’t think they’d break the pattern now
