@voltthorn You’ll need a GPA. Also it’s pointless to chance now. Decisions come out soon and no one can predict.
So nervous for these decisions… any suggestions on how to take my mind off it?
Consider all options in front of you. By that I mean imagine worst case scenario and then decide what you’d do. Get excited about a safety or match? Take a gap year? Consider a summer or fall program? I find that considering “what if” and realizing that there are great opportunities for high school graduates who had the courage and motivation to shoot for some top schools, no matter what any admissions decisions come their way, eases the tension and the constant portal checking. Good luck to everyone and remember that just putting yourself and your hard work out there is a significant accomplishment.
Ok so I know that decisions are probably going to show up on the portal March 17. Does anyone know when they are sending out the acceptance packages?
@ashleyucla2021 It should be the same day
@vasodys @ashleyucla2021 Packages come out 1-2 weeks after getting accepted via the portal. It’s between notifications and bruin day.
@10s4life Yes, but the question was when they are sent.
Is it still possible to get Regents or have all Regents Scholars been decided already?

@10s4life So does the admissions office send out packages 1-2 weeks after the decisions are posted on the portal, or do students receive the packages 1-2 weeks after they see the decision on the portal? I’m just confused by your use of “come out”.
If I remember correctly I got my admit package about 3 weeks after the getting in (i.e. 3 weeks after the Friday decision release). I am OOS (northeast) so it took a while for me to get my package, but I think I’m state students can expect to get a package in 1-2 weeks. Good luck!!
@bruin2020 I’m international so it would probably take a lot longer xD Either way, I have to get accepted first.
@vasodys I meant I got it in the mail around 1-2 weeks after getting accepted.
@10s4life Then it would be safe to assume that they are sent from UCLA around the same time they are posted
Good luck everyone! Can I ask how you guys did freshman year in high school? I finished with a 4.2 capped and weighted UC GPA and 3.7 unweighted. Will that hurt me?
@SchoolFreakLol Decisions will be posted on March 17th at 5pm
thank you!! curious, will that hurt me?? ^^
@SchoolFreakLol I’m international, so I have no idea about the GPA system, but I’d guess that if you’ve shown progress through high school, a lower score freshman year wouldn’t hurt much.
Hi everyone! I’ve been spectating this thread for a while now just to find out any info about UCLA and their admissions! I know chance me posts are kind of pointless, but I just want someone’s insight to see if I’m a pretty good applicant because if I get rejected, at least I’ll have some idea of whether or not I was a straight up rejection. Thanks!

To me, they’re pretty solid and unique. I had a former student from my school who now goes to Berkeley look over them and give me feedback. We worked on it together too and she said they’re we’re all pretty good, I just needed to give specifics and express myself a little more. I wrote one about drawing since I’ve been drawing seriously since 6th grade. Another one was about how my special talent was making everything fit, but it eventually lead from actual objects to time management especially when I transferred to my current school during my junior year. Another one was about Pre-Calc./Math being my favorite subject, not because I found math easy, but how it’s all about finding simple ways to overcome a difficult problems. My last one was about what sets me apart and I basically talked about how I can’t turn a boring situation into a fun one and connect with everyone. I specifically talked about how my classmates and I were leaders for a school “camping” trip and we were on a 3 hour bus ride back and I was able to sing and dance for almost all those 3 hours, but I also got everyone else engaged too.

Are you applying for financial aid: yes!

First-generation student will help. Have you already applied? If so, I hope you noted that your school didn’t offer any AP’s.
SAT scores are a little low, and it would have helped if you took the ACT.
It is a little bit of a reach, but there’s definitely room for acceptance considering you are the first to go to college in your family. Good luck!
