Also just want to say that that same person who got in with a supplemental, applied for the ucla alumni scholarship and got it ! Even though she was not sent the email inviting her to apply. So it’s not a waste of time however it is difficult only 150 students of all the admitted applicants will get the scholarship
@UCLAstan PM’d you
@10s4life you seem very active on this thread. What was your path to UCLA like? What makes you still take interest in the UCLA threads. Curious, that’s cool that you help others with the process
@nduclaunc Happy to answer that. Going through the app process was a long stressful time and I wanted to help the next class of potential Bruins. I grew up my whole life wanting to go to Stanford or the Ivy League. It wasn’t until the summer prior to senior year that I toured UCLA and fell in love. It was my top choice school and love it so far. I applied to EE Fall 16 and honestly didn’t think I’d get in. Another thing was I was in the process of getting recruited for a D3 sport and almost abandoned college apps. Glad I didn’t do that. So far UCLA has been better than I could ever have hoped for. First quarter was jammed packed but you’re gonna make memories that will last a lifetime. Classes are hard and you have to study a lot but there is still time for fun. I’m currently in a frat, playing IM sports, im a systems engineer on a rocket project, and I’m involved with Bruin Cru and Greek Crossing which are Christian groups on campus (one is campus wide the other is Greek life specific). I was invited to apply for an alumni scholarship but didn’t get one. I am also not regents.
@10s4life that’s awesome!!! You are super involved and definitely have a great story. Thanks for sharing with this thread, I appreciate it a lot additionally. Are you an out of state student? Not sure whether you mentioned it in your response and if I missed it or not.
@nduclaunc I’m in state.

I’m getting two AA degress one in liberal arts and the other in behavioral and sociological science before I graduate high school
I’m captain of the girls varsity tennis team, president of two clubs of school, part of two honors societies, have over three hundred hours of community service and and an internship with the Southern California director of the Red Cross, and I have two jobs one as tutor and the other at Baskin Robbins
@coffee1999 I would recommend posting on Chance Me threads instead of this one… This thread is supposed to be a forum where we can all ask questions regarding application materials and new updates to our decisions, not chancing people.
“Financial Aid and Scholarships are awarded on the basis of both academic merit and financial need.
High school entering students are awarded with a 4.1 grade point average (GPA) or better” Can someone explain this?
If you didn’t get an email for a supplementary questionnaire is that a bad thing?
