forsure thanks dude. just wanted that reassurance…what are your stats? I’m hoping that TAP gets me through that fence. UCLA such a dam good school im going to go nuts on decision day haha

I don’t have TAP, unfortunately. I found out about it way late in the game.
Anthropology major, 3.75 GPA, 1st generation, AmeriCorps alumnus, 2,000+ hours of community service, Phi Theta Kappa.

Nice. I am sure you will get in. I have herd people that applied with a 3.2 for Anthro that got in.

Well, one can only hope! :D

Guess who’s back? Back again…

No more ■■■■■ laker the true laker is back, this made my day

I agree Bruin321… It definitely looks like theregoesevan will get in.

Well THANK you guys :D

Can I ask you guys a question?? Why is going to UCLA such a big deal?? Is it for the reputation and rankings??

Dream. School.

Aren’t all schools big deals for those reasons? Or would you rather go to a school with a terrible reputation, with bottom of the barrel rankings?

No. UCLA is my dream school too but when I put it into perspective I feel like it’s ultra competitive and hard and for a transfer student I feel like they wouldnt earn the highest grades to be competitive enough for grad school? I’ve known a handful of people who went to cal states for their undergrads and have gotten into top universities for their grad programs (law & med school). I think its a waste to spend so much time worrying where you are going to go as an undergrad. No offense

^ i agree. if your looking to get into a med school goto a cal state

Well, whatever works for you, my friend. If I get in to UCLA, it’s because I deserve to go there, and I’ll work as hard as I have to in order to do well there.

For me I look it at it this way…you only have a few years in your whole life to enjoy the college experience. When your 40,50,70 years old you will always look back at those good ole days…I want to make the most of it now…and what not better than UCLA. schools and grades are real important dont get me wrong…but its not everything. Gotta enjoy life if you know what i mean.

But people at UCLA study 24/7 and have mental breakdowns every other week from their coursework. Good luck on your social/ college experience.

^if that’s really what you think, then cal state is definitely for you. some people actually want to be challenged. if you can’t handle UCLA for undergrad, u definitely won’t be able to handle the coursework for a top law/med program

I don’t like cal states. I’m just saying if you guys don’t get in it’s not really a big deal because what school you go to doesnt determine your future.

^yes it does determine your future…but either your future will be better or not is debatable.

The school that I see as the best fit for me (UCLA) also happens to be one of the best schools in the country. I determine my future (as we all do,) but going to a university where you work hard and challenge yourself can certainly help out along the way. That’s rewarding to me.

Just wanted to double check:

“Progress towards completion of major preparation requirements by spring prior to transfer”

…that means its okay to finish during spring…rather finish before spring even starts correct?
