UCLA Engineering Q&A

Hey Flopsy, was that you at the CS1 discussion today?

Yeah.

lol i saw you there also

does anyone living in the dorms use dc++?

flopsy do you know if rohr puts up any of his powerpoint presentations or slides online or has any past ones up?

When I had Prof. Rohr, he used projector overheads. I didn't know he switched to PowerPoint slides.

i think rohr just uses the powerpoint slides that's provided by the textbook. (well that's what he did last year)

they can be found here:
http://wps.aw.com/aw_savitch_abscpp_2s/0,10408,1982372-,00.html

edit: oh flopsy - he still uses projector overheads from time to time..

hmm i think hes usin his own version of those, his powerpoint slides are a lot more bland but are basically just straight info

thanks though for that link, those are pretty helpful and are basically the same thing :)

is there a website for rohr's CS 33 powerpoints? :/

What is the critical difference between CS and CSE? Which one is more geared towards a career in software engineering? What if I have a lot of interest in artificial intelligence?

CS is more closely geared towards careers in software engineering and artificial intelligence. You have more room for electives like CS 130: Software Engineering, and CS 161: Artificial Intelligence is a required part of the major, unlike CSE.

How do I find my academic advisor? (if there is any??)

In CourseWeb, click the "My CourseWeb" link, then click "View Advisors" on the sidebar.

d**n it flopsy, I thought you said Engineering 183 was easy. -.-;; so much work in this class. I just got my first paper back and the T.A. was like dude you got a 92/100 you have to try harder. -.-. LOL

Do you have Prof. Weltman?

yes, Weltman and his friend Brown.

In that case, then Engineering 183 is easy. It's not curved, either, so 92/100 = A-.

flopsy wasn't kidding when he said get a partner...get a partner or some people for help in any cs class...i know i wish i could get help for like cs m51a and 161 right now...ughh

You dug your own grave, Xcron.

Are we allowed to take the Winter & Spring Quarters off for an internship? If so, how tedious is the processes?
