UCLA Fall 2018 Transfer Questions

Hi, I am a Santa Monica College student that has applied to the Linguistics and Computer Science major at UCLA for Fall 2018. I would like to know my chances. Please help me out.
According to UCLA website, the acceptance rate for Linguistics and Computer Science was 68% last year and the GPA range was 3.56-3.78.

My GPA = 3.76 including fall (increased during winter but I don’t think it matters)
Status = International Student
Tap = No
Major Prep = Complete
IGETC = Complete
Extracurricular = Generally strong. (AGS member, also volunteered a lot in my home country.)

Some people tell me that not being in TAP will hurt my chances but others tell me that it won’t, especially since my major is non-impacted.
Please tell me how good my chances are. Also, note that I am an international student.

Your chances are good, but not guaranteed. Not having tap won’t help, but it shouldn’t hurt either. I would also note that you should check the UC website for the 2017 stats since the ones you listed are from 2016. Since then the acceptance rate has dropped from 68% to 36%, which is more in line with what the acceptance rate has been historically, though curiously the admit gpa range has also dropped to 3.46-3.66.

Thanks for the feedback!
I wonder why the GPA range is low; does it mean no one with a high GPA applied? Seems rather weird…

My guess is that since there aren’t a lot of people applying for the major it probably just happened that last year some of them had slightly lower GPAs than before.
