UCLA Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

It just occurred to me that I am taking some of the prereq classes( the ones from assist.org) this semester so I technically didn’t finish them before fall 2019. Will that affect my admission a lot? Cuz I am still in these classes but I will be finishing them this semester instead of fall, which I’m assuming is what they wanted?

So, how sure are we that decisions come today?

@fitcoderdude well in the past few years, ucla has released decisions on the 4th Wednesday of April, which would also be today. also bruin day was supposed to take place on may 9 this year, and it took place on may 11 last year and they released decisions on April 24th. so based off that we got today as an estimation. also, last year regents scholars were informed the Friday before decisions, which was also the case this year. i am pretty positive it is today, let’s hope it is!!

@RhuBaiZA13 I “dropped” out of french and am taking biostatistics now. (I SWITCHED COURSES)

It depends on what your major requirements are. For political science, it says that I need three out of the four classes completed before Spring 2020. Check on Assist because it should say on the top of the form.

So nice to meet another nursing major!! What are your stats, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m sure you’re fine since UCLA is known to be more lenient if you come from a compelling background or have really good essays. (this is based off of a meeting I went to as well)

OHH ok, gotcha. Honestly, if I were you, I would wait. I have some friends who go to UCLA now and we’re in a similar situation. Of course, there is the fear of being rescinded, but I think it should be ok if they just see your transcript when it comes. I had a friend who failed one of her classes spring semester before transfer and she goes to UCLA right now. You can try notifying them but I mean if admission decisions come out today, it probably won’t get to them in time.

Does UCLA usually notify via portal or email?

is there an estimated time that decisions will begin to be released?

@poliscigal Thanks for the help. I think I should be good… at least I sure hope so haha

@flyingpancakes00 My guess is around 3-5 PM, but that’s just based on what a lot of people have been saying on here and Reddit.

Good luck to everyone!!! Hope we all get the news we want to hear!

I would check the portal at 3, the UCs update the portal and don’t usually send out an email notifying you for an hour or so.

UCSB has closed their portal until 3pm today, so everyone is assuming we will here back from UCSB at 3pm. I’m not positive it works this way but I would assume UCLA wouldn’t release at the same time?

It was 5 PM last year. 5 hours and 35 minuets left!

it will probably be released at 5pm, but I’ll be checking every 5 minutes anyways LOL

UCLA has released decisions at or around 5 PM since at least 2016. So if they were to come out today it’d likely be at 5PM.

I sure hope so! No problem here are my stats:
GPA: 3.94
Volunteering experience: Stanford Children’s Hospital Gift Shop, Academy of Art and Music for Special Education (front desk), a lot of church related activities, assistant director of a Piano Competition

Work experience: tutoring piano, accompanist, summer camp counselor
My main concern is that I don’t have any clinical hours. I did try to get them but the hospital I volunteered at only let me work at the Gift shop because of my age. Which is why I’m sure I’m probably not going to get in because I’m competing with older and more experienced people. It’s worth a shot though!

everyone is so supportive here and it makes me feel less nervous

Anyone front page portal for UCLA change? Mine used to say just my name and address, but now it has that with my associated email and major (pre-econ)
