UCLA Fall 2021 Transfers

Yeah I wish I had better options so I could reject them but I’d still jump at the chance to go :joy::sob:

Me completely

I’m honestly considering it. I got accepted to UCD and UCI andfor my major there isn’t that big of a difference in quality, and I’m going to grad school so my undergrad doesn’t matter that much. UCD is close to my family and I just got their financial aid offer and its amazing. How UCLA is acting isn’t even funny anymore, its disgusting. I have a job and things I need to take care of before I move across the state, the very least they can do is give a damn date.

I got waitlisted too! I’m feeling a bit more hopeful for UCLA.

Fax it’s the least they could do

Yeah I got rejected from UCB so my hopes are kinda low for UCLA :upside_down_face:

how do you check it?
*nvm that q was already answered lol

Yeah I agree, they DO NOT respect students at all.

is there any chance at all that they’ll put decisions out tonight? im so stressed

naw

do you have better odds getting into ucla if your transferring from smcc? how does that work

is that santa monica college? i think ucla has a transfer program with smc so if you go through that, it probably helps your app

To be honest, Berkeley’s rejection almost destroyed my self-confidence. I thought I would have a hard time getting accepted to LA. :joy:

do we need like a 4.0 for UCLA? the berkeley talk here is stressing meee like I have a lot going for me on my app for UCLA like TAP, but i have 2 B’s so like

i just checked and the 25th percentile is 3.70 and the 75th is 3.93 (for sociology) and I have a 3.84. do you think those numbers have become even higher this year? i feel like i was right in the middle as is, and now I feel like i’m rejected  anyone else doing soc?

Mine as English major is 3.68 to 3.93, an I have a 3.791. I’m dead for sure. I did all their major prep too, this will be devastating.

aaaah so ur right in the middle too! it’s the worst, because we were so close to the highest gpa! and this year it seems the bar will be set with 4.0’s! incredibly unfair! i thought that being in the middle of the range was a good thing but now I feel like it’ll all be closer to the other end

I’m mainly worried they won’t really pay attention to the fact that I’ve done their prepwork and stuff. I also think my EC and PIQ were all over the place and while it gave insight, could easily be seen as a negative too depending on the reader.

I’m worried about that too, I honestly feel like they have a system that sorts all the applications by gpa and that they just flat-out cut off anything that doesn’t fit into the cutoff, instead of looking hollistically. my essays were really good and i did scholars/TAP but i’m worried that my gpa is more important. one of my b’s was from a 9th grade college class, so it sucks that it stuck with me.

Out of these for my CC, I had some AP credits but since I got a 3 on both Lang and Lit, I didn’t trust I’d get credit for it. So I did 101A and 101B this semester so it’s in progress but I have a long track record of other English courses that don’t transfer.
Additionally, I completed 125A, and I’m doing 125B this semester as well (For a total of 3 English courses and 1 Philosophy that I’m not mentioning just “for fun”).
If after all this I’m still out of the running I’m not sure what to say.

Also IGETC is done ofc.
