I took P/NP during Spring 2021 for a physics class, so it’s a req for the physics series and I emailed all the UC’s to ask about their policy and UCLA told me it’s acceptable. Not sure if they said that just because the UC system gave out that policy or that they actually don’t take that in consideration, but I hope it’s the latter because if I didn’t my GPA would be way lower than it is
I asked them via email and here’s their response
“We recommend taking courses for a letter grade if possible, especially in transferable English, math, and major preparation courses. However, we will accept Pass grades for any Spring 2021 course, including those major preparation courses required for admission consideration. Courses taken in Spring/Summer 2021 for P/NP credit will not negatively impact an applicant in the review process. However, we are awaiting confirmation from each department on how they will utilize P/NP for placement purposes.”
Hope this helps
That was 4/7/2021
Anyone else find it mildly concerning that we are a little over a week out from the hard deadline and they are still reading transfer apps, while UCLA had a 28% freshman applicant increase to make 140k freshman applicants. They got their decisions back earlier than last year. I am curious if they beat last year’s numbers for freshmen, why a measly 8-9% transfer jump is giving so many issues! All my friends are already signing leases and getting housing plans…
It is SUPER concerning. It feels as if they dont care abt us one bit. Def not personal but ugh
It just logistically does not make sense to me how that occurs, maybe it is not that they don’t care but rather some internal issues that is causing the delay we are seeing.
I really do hope so🥲 thank you though
I feel like since it’s taking such an unnecessary amount of time to review applications that there has to be something going on on the inside that we are not aware of.
I am assuming they already have a decisions for those who got the alumni scholarship email since they held an application reading for accepted students the past weekend…who knows why they are taking longer than usual
edit: I just realized that something weird about all this is that they say that the scholarship and admissions aren’t tied…yet how could the scholarship people already know who was accepted
Yeah, it’s so confusing! I just wish we could get some clarity.
Everything happens for a reason xoxo
Yea its been there in mine for a couple weeks now lmfao
waiting for my acceptance like
can’t wait to put ucla in the bio
this is all mildly disappointing… a bit of transparency on their end would help a lot of us.
already have it in mine babe…
yeah i did not pay $70 to not know the date
what are we betting on? how high are the odds it’s this week??
I’m thinking it’ll be friday since ucsb is tmrw
