UCLA -- Fin Aid

I will be coming to ucla in da falll! =D

I was just curious about financial aid disbursement.

I'm getting a bit worried about initial housing fees and whatnot.

When does financial aid become available for us?!

Do we just have to somehow make the money happen until the fall?

Orientation $135, SIR $100, housing intial fee like $3000 or something...i don't just have 3000+ sitting around. :(

Financial aid is disbursed in mid-September. Orientation fees aren’t due until midway through the fall. If you’re on the Financial Aid payment plan you’ll have to make a couple $200 payments before financial aid is posted, but the first $3000+ fee isn’t until October 1.

If it’s hard to come up with $400 in the summer then you should contact Housing and you may be able to work something out.

OP,

  1. Calm down, and learn to realize that a couple random hundred dollar rapings is nothing compared to what things often are.
2.) No offense, but if you are seriously *****ing about 3k, that you don’t have it in a savings account or “lying around”, you or your parents are acting very financially irresponsibly.

Awwww that makes me feel so much better. Thank you ThisCouldBeHeavn. :)

Four hundred dollars is much more doable.

Why is my housing cost(16000) more than my net cost of attendance(10000)?

@zarmok1998: Please post your financial aid package. Also housing costs depend upon single/double/triple occupancy and the type of meal plan selected.
