I just got accepted as an out of state student at UCLA for the class of 2018 and my parents are divorced. As they only require FAFSA (which accounts for the custodial parent only), I am worried that after I accept the admissions offer (if I do) that they will require tax documentation or something from my non-custodial parent and I won't get as much financial aid (my custodial parent makes much less than my non-custodial). As UCLA is giving me more than half off the total cost in grants and scholarships, it is a very appealing option and I don't want to end up paying a lot more at UCLA than I expected when other, less prestigious schools would have given me more money.

UCLA wont ask for your dad’s info…but frankly, the UCs should start doing this because of the many cases like yours.

That said…if your dad will be paying some/all of the $23k+ you’ll have to pay, that will have to get reported on next year’s FAFSA.

My dad is my custodial parent, not my mom. But thank you for the response! So there is no further documentation you need to submit for financial aid after you have accepted the offer?

As long as your FAFSA info was correct.

Did you include the child support that your mom pays? And if your mom helps pay for college, that will be put on FAFSA next year.
