UCLA for art or CCA for architecture?

I'm currently a fine arts major at UCLA, but I've always planned on doing architecture. Recently, I applied to the two year undergrad architecture program at UCLA but I didn't get in. I applied to CCA's five year program and I did get in. I really want to get into architecture as soon as possible, but I don't know if leaving UCLA is a good choice. I'm a mediocre student right now, but I'm hoping that having the pressure of knowing I need to get into grad school will help me to become a better student, thus helping me get into grad school. I know I can wait and do a masters in architecture, but right now there's an opportunity for me to go into architecture right away. What should I do?!!? There seems to be really good opportunities for me in both places... Would leaving UCLA be a terrible choice?

hello mthedidgirl, by how you phrased your question, i think you would want to go to cca directly. leaving ucla is not a terrible choice because both of your options are good choices! specifically from hearing you talk, i think that since you are really eager to get into architecture, i think you should jump into cca right now then. i think the benefits of going to cca is that you’d be doing the thing that you’d want to do right away. i think the pro of staying in ucla is that you’d have more flexibility in the long term, choosing what you’d want to do, and you’d have additional and diverse insight if you stay in the art program at ucla. zzzzz
