i didn't mention anything about residence or on campus...but they still gave me rieber terrace

Me too. I listed only 3 apartment choices, yet they offered me a residence hall. They're crooks, man. It's no wonder I received like 3 postcards and 3 emails from them urging me to apply. :)

J/K. They probably just care about their students. Rather than turning down my housing application, they offered me alternative choices. Aside from my undecisiveness, I gladly submitted my SIR to UCLA since all my communications with them had been positive experiences. Unlike UCSD, I always get rude people taking my calls.

Hilgard is pretty cool. It's mostly upper division students right? And the building is really beautiful and spacious too?

i got crap. now i have to find a place. that sucks balls... big big balls.

ee_stu, you got Rieber Vista right? I thought Vista was plazas.

staiolz, how much is your housing offer? If's it's around 8,000 w/ about 14 meals a week, I'd be willing to swap. I have a single Rieber Vista w/ shared bath.

g3t, yes you are right, my mistake. To me, resident halls, dorms, plazas, are all the same, lol.

8K? ouch...im lookinat at around 4K for the academic year...woohoo

why are the apartments cheaper? My apartment is like 6,800 and i looked up the prices of the dorms (which have less amenities) and they're like 12K! Is it because of the meal plans?

probably meal plans, and then proximity to campus, and also it cost them a lot of money to build the new housing, sooooo they have to charge a lot.

BTW, does anyone else have a $0 for first initial payment, but then they are still asked to provide their credit card number?

Edit: does anyone know if you sign up for this original housing offer, and then request a change, but then you still dont like what you get, can you just reject all the offers, are would u be required to move in to the orignal offer?

My friend got Westwood Chateau...GRRR. She applied for housing like the day after she got accepted.

Is ANYONE 100% content with the offer? I mean, how is it possible that NONE of us got what we asked for?!?

Oh, and my e-mail says I got Sunset Village/Triple/Shared bath, but it doesn't specify that on my my account online...why is that? o.O

....I applied for housing after a week I was accepted... **** this

i guess im gonna stay a year in coop then apply for university apartments next year....then I will have a chance of getting it. transfers were already screwed because continuing students got to select theirs a month before and UCLA needed fresh bodies to fill their new residence plazas.

I don't think we were all herded into the plazas because they needed us there. A lot of the continuing kids wanted the new plazas but couldn't get them. UCLA only allots a certain # of rooms for continuing students in each building.. or else all the new students would end up with the crappiest living arrangements.

I thought their policy was it's best to segregate the transfer kids so we could stand out more. haha

are we going to be rooming with other transfers? or will we be mixed in with the continuing students?

bokchoi i applied for housing the day it was due and i got an apartment..i dont think it has anything to do about WHEN you submit your stuff.

yep me too, looking forward to it.

thanks for bumping a 4 year old thread?

those dudes probably got their master degree already XD
