They gave that a lot of thought if they’re adding slingshots.

So, do we have to wait until orientation to register for classes or is it possible to start that process early?

I believe you do it at orientation.

You can call the orientation phone number, tell them you won’t be attending, and then get a date for first pass enrollment

I got a triple in Hitch Suites. What are the chances of being able to change into a double? Building does not matter.

Finally! @foreversmileys My daughter got a triple in Hitch. You should wait and see. There is a swap week and you can switch then, but they have really fixed hitch up so you might end up liking it.

You technically shouldn’t have knives in the room, but just about everybody has things in their dorm that they shouldn’t. As long as you’re not causing trouble or catching the attention of any RAs, PCs, or RDs then you’ll probably be okay. I had a neighbor last year who got caught with a sword for some on-campus club he was part of. He got written up for it and the sword was taken away until he talked to his RD. If you absolutely need to take the knife, keep it stowed away unless necessary because you might get in trouble by an RA doing inspections or their daily rounds.

I’ve come to learn that your dorm building doesn’t nearly affect your social life as much as you think it might. I lived in a plaza last year (Courtside- it’s in Sunset Village) and thought that I wouldn’t get to meet many people since plazas tend to be “less social”, but I was definitely wrong. I also had close friends who lived in places like Sproul or Rieber who lived under a rock in their dorms and didn’t have a great social experience. As long as you are out and about doing your best to befriend your neighbors, then you should be fine. I highly recommend attending your weekly house meetings (RAs will later explain this to those of you who don’t know what they are) because it is a great way to get to know your RA and the people who live in your building. Also, if possible, hold a position in your building such as birthday chair, representative, door-knocker, etc (once again, RAs will explain this). Basically, if you haven’t figured it out, just be super involved in your housing community and your social life and overall dorming experience should be very pleasant. :)

Anyone get any email notifications yet from housing?

Yes, my room mates’ emails have been uploaded onto my housing account as well as my move in date.
