Hi everyone,

Associate Dean Richard Wesel gave the opening remarks at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science open house on Saturday, April 4th. Today he sent out an email to inform the open house attendees that his speech is now available for viewing online. Just thought I'd post the link for anyone who's interested : )

P.S. I thought the open house was great! The opening presentation, department presentations (I went to CS/CSE, woot woot), housing tours, etc. were all well prepared and very informative. Now that I think about it, this event probably caused me to choose UCLA! Do any other attendees want to share their thoughts?

Cool thanks for the info :]
Went for EE
I was kinda tired throughout the day… I was up all night too
Overall it was a great experience, really fun and the people were nice

Yeah it was a long day (I flew in the night before and flew out that night, from Nor Cal) but I think it was well worth it–like I said, it swayed me At the CS lunch each table had a seat reserved for a student, faculty, or alumnus from the department. This girl sat at our table, and nobody else was really interested in talking to her, so I struck up a conversation and we talked for a good hour about life at UCLA and as an engineer. She was really nice and seemed to be really honest (not scripted or anything like that). She even gave me her name, phone number, and email, and told me to look her up on Facebook.
