UCLA Math/Econ

I really want to do this but I got accepted as Applied Math. Do you think they'd let me switch since it's the same department? I already have all my pre-reqs done.

Also, who else is doing or wants to do Math/Econ? Say hi! What grad schools are you aiming for?

I am still pending on UCLA math/econ. 3.81 GPA.
Some my friends in UCLA told me that it is easy to switch your major as long as you are in the same department.
Currently I am not aiming any graduate school yet. Probably going to start preparing for actuarial exam while getting bachelor.

Very easy to do. Going from App Math to Econ would have been another story but to math/econ will be a breeze.

Cool man. I got into math/econ too! I think the program is better than Berkeley’s, so I am really stuck. I rather do a joint than a double major any day.

For grad school I want to do either econ or finance or financial engineering. I would like to go to any top 20 school for graduate school; well, I would prefer a top 10 but we all know how hard that is!

bump 10 char

For all the Math/Econ majors, it may interest you in doing the BA/MA program.

[UCLA Department of Economics](http://www.econ.ucla.edu/undergraduate/department_scholar_info.html)

The Math/Econ major is perfect for this program as the Mathematics and Economics courses that are required are all part of your major requirements for your BA.

Wow, how much longer do you think it will take to graduate? Also, how much more will it cost?

Typically 4-6 quarters and it should cost roughly the same as undergraduate.

So my debt would be essentially doubled or more. Damn, it may be good for some people, but I will just stick with my bachelor’s. Thanks though!

For math/econ majors,

Here is a good thread:

I am finding out that this major is not very popular on here lol.
