UCLA Nursing Program

Okay so I am currently a senior in high school and I have been accepted into UCLA as undeclared. But i've decided that i want to go into nursing to become a pediatric nurse practioner. The only problem is that to apply to the nursing program it says that i was supposed to apply when i orginally applied to the university as a whole. But it also says something about having a minimum amount of credits. I really do not understand how all of this works. I was wondering if someone could please explain it to me and also i was wondering if i could do two years of my general ed then apply to the nursing program my junior year? My college advisor said that i could apply as a junior but i would have to start over again as a freshman? But that doesn't make any sense to me. Im just really confused. HELP PLEASE :(

As far as I know, the nursing accepts approximately 10 transfer students into their program per year.
Furthermore, according the UCLA nursing website it states that
Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants must have completed all IGETC requirements or all general education requirements at the school where currently or previously enrolled and the equivalent of all of the non-nursing preparation for the major courses as follows: Chemistry 14A, B, C or Chemistry 20A, B & 30A; Communications 1 or 10; Life Sciences 2 & 3; Math 3A or 31A; Microbiology; Physiological Science 3 & 13; and Psychology 10. *May be completed at UCLA.

So I suppose if you complete all these prereqs, you should be fine. Double check with an admissions counselor to be sure!
