@UCkitty what the pre-reqs for jewish studies? lol seems like you’re going for the bait and switch method ones your approved haha

@philosoup: While that may be the case I may just be pushed out by other competitive transfers… that have alll of their pre reqs finished.

Guess we will see! Hopefully my “streak” of acceptances continues throughout the weekend!

EDIT: This week is going to go SLOOOOOAAAWWWW

Thank you for the clarification!! I came across a thread saying they were only going to send a packet. That’s great we can check it online directly.

Me is nervous (/-)

can you view your financial aid award?

This week is going to be incredibly slow. I am so anxious about UCLA. I have a feeling that I am going to be rejected just because I don’t have as many classes completed as the majority of applicants. Does anyone know if that makes a difference?

I completed a decent amount of APs throughout high school, and I was counting on being accepted as a freshman, but since that didn’t work out, I planned to do only one year at a CCC.

So, I have straight A’s so far, and that will probably continue this semester, but I am wondering whether that 4.0 means anything (being only 4 classes worth).

My IGETC is complete, and all of my prerequisites are satisfied. I also have a sufficient number of units, assuming AP’s count, and am TAP certified.

Either way, good luck to everyone! I hope you all get accepted!

^ interesting. is this because you completed your IGETC with classes you took in high school? is that possible? and you completed all of your prerequisites and have taken only four classes? how does that work?

guess if you had completed math and english in high school, but have you taken 60 UC transferable units? is that what you mean by AP classes? amazing! hope you get in anyway. of course 4.0 makes a difference if you have taken 60 UC transferable units and qualify for admission—4.0 unweighted.

i completed my units, prereqs, and IGETC in two years. it was quite a few units. but nothing would transfer from high school because the units had expired in my case. cheers.

My APs covered most of the IGETC requirements, and the only other major requirements for me were the English and Accounting requirements, and one course in Economics.

For APs, I took:
World History, U.S. History, Calculus BC, Psychology, Macroeconomics, European History, Art History, Statistics, and Environmental Science. So, those satisfied a bunch of my IGETC requirements, at least to my knowledge. At my CCC, I took Econ 1 (Micro), Biology 3, Accounting 1, and English 101 first semester. This semester, I am finishing it all off with Accounting 2 and English 103. The other two classes are just other classes I am taking for their transferable UC units.

I think that adds up to enough units, but I am not certain. My counselor did not tell me I was missing anything. :P

that would be so fantastic to enter as a transfer. with classes you took in high school. guess we’ll find out on friday.

i took precalculus in 7th grade, and they made me retake ALGEBRA at my CCC?
they are retardo. seriously. what a scam. i like algebra, but i did not need to take it again.

Hey guys. I’m a CC applicant to UCLA for American Indian Studies. I have a 3.14 GPA and I’ve completed 2 out of the 3 pre-reqs required for my major. I’m currently enrolled in the 3rd pre-req so I’ll complete all the pre-reqs offered at my CC by the end of this spring. Last year, 14 people applied to this major and the average admit GPA was 3.2. I raised my GPA from a 2.8 to a 3.1 in fall 2011 semester by getting a 3.6 with 15 semester units (4 As and one C) and it was the first time I was a full time student. I hope they see my potential. I do not have TAP, and I’m not expecting miracles.

GPA: 3.14
Applied: UCSD,UCLA,UCSB,UCD,UCI,UCR,UCM,UCSC
Accepted: UCSC,UCR,UCM
Rejected: None so far.

Good luck everyone!

^ it is good to have a gpa above 3.0. great news about santa cruz, that is also a fantastic school. good luck, hope you get into all of them. no UCB listed?

Thank you northbeach! I know my GPA isn’t up to par with other people, but I’ve come a long way. I didn’t apply to UCB because I knew my GPA was too low to even be considered for review haha. What are your stats northbeach? :)

I am so scared because I am in my second english class and my math class right now I didn’t really know it was important to have math and english done early… aside from that, I feel my application is fairly strong for the major I applied to, but I’m not sure if the english/math thing will kill me. I can’t stand this wait anymore, but I keep reminding myself that we are all in this together! So good luck everybody!

Do we know if they are posting decisions at midnight or if it’s a middle of the day type of thing?

For freshman it was “late evening” think my freind found out at 7-8ish?

I know psych is impacted at UCLA, but do any of you know how badly its impacted?

@BLAHBLAH111, 3.81 avg GPA last year, I believe.

I only have a 3.5 I really hope Iam at least considered borderline :(

BLAHBLAH111- I was looking through LA admission threads for '10 and '11 and there were some ppl w 3.6’s who got in. I’m also kind of nervous since my gpa is below the average.

what’s done is done and only time will tell lol telling myself that is the only way for me to not dwell on every little mistake I’ve made.

I’m still below 3.6… But you are right only time will tell I’ll just hurt myself if I keep stressing like this
