It has come down to these two for me. UCLA and Gtown.

I want to eventually study business (I'm in the business school at georgetown) and I figure any liberal arts type of major from UCLA can get me into a pretty good Business Grad School. So if its not a major deal academically (I consider the two schools pretty comprable to getting into Business Grad School) which school do you think is the most fun? most worthwile college experience?

My two concerns for each are:
Georgetown: Lived in socal my whole life and love it here, don't really see myself living in DC, although it is a very cool area.
UCLA: I'm trying to get into the Honors Program, but I'm afraid if I don't I am going to get lost in a sea of students. I go to a small private school and a place like UCLA is pretty intimidating at first I'm sure.

If you are still with me, and can think of any suggestions for someone who is absolutely killing themselves over this decision, it would be very helpful. Thanks guys.

if youre looking for a "college experience" and fun, UCLA is probably the school that will offer more of that for you. yes both are good in placing students into business-related careers and eventually business grad school. do note that UCLA DOESNT have a business major... the closest thing is business economics... however, taking undergrad management classes with profs from anderson b-school (i think this is possible, someone correct me if im wrong) is a plus though. since youre into business, you probably should possess qualities such as determination, independence, and initiative. if you have those qualities, then you won't get lost in a sea of students, even if you arent in the honors program. the opportunities for personal attention are out there, you'll just have to take the initiative to approach them first.

a better question is, where do you want to work? its usually much easier placing yourself into internships and jobs in the school's own region than it is elsewhere.

i would say choose georgetown if you can afford it. The opportunities and resources at a private school are really unbelievable. You can't find that at a huge public school. Plus, Georgetown has a much more established business program than UCLA. Just for business alone...gtown totally beats la. You will value the new experience away from home, I think..it'll give you a chance to grow and explore. consider it.

I would go to UCLA; it has great weather and an awesome campus.... I don't think Georgetown's business school is very highly reguarded. If you're a California resident, the decision is a no-brainer.

I would go to Georgetown, I think if you stay in So Cal the rest of your life, you'll never grow as independent as if you were to explore a different city/state.

Also I think UCLA is way to over crowded, who knows if you'll even end up graduating in 4 years.
