UCLA or Georgia Tech

I was accepted at both UCLA and Georgia Tech (waitlisted at Berkeley and Cornell) for engineering and am not really sure which I should go to. I would be out of state for both. Any advice would be appreciated.

Definitely GaTech.

Assuming the price is similar, for engineering I’d give the nod to GaTech as well. My D’s friend just graduated and had a fabulous experience there.

Why Georgia Tech?

if you want to major in engineering, choose gtech cuz its a lot better than UCLA regarding engineering.(Not Berkeley though)

Georgia Tech ranked fourth for overall undergraduate engineering program. Tie with Caltech this year.

Is there really that big of a difference in the engineering programs? I hear UCLA is still really good

UCLA is a really good school. No arguing that at all. But out of state at GA Tech is $49,000; while out of state UCLA will run around $62,000.

So a degree from Ga Tech will cost you $50,000 less. Ga Tech gives you a wider range of engineering degree options and undisputed name recognition in the field of engineering.

Yeah, the money is certainly an issue, but other than that I’m leaning toward UCLA
