UCLA or other options

I know its a bit early since i am a sophomore(in florida) but i really want to go to UCLA. My weighted gpa is a 4.2 my grades are relatively good but aren’'t great i am aware its very hard to get in so what can i do to help my chances and what options are also available for me. I am very open to any suggestion please help!

Can you afford UCLA out of state cost?

I think i can handle the cost with some work and my parents help so yes

How much exactly can your parents help?

Here is the 2015 Freshman Profile for UCLA and 2016’s should be out soon so you can use these as a guide. UC"s will also consider your EC’s and essays (actually now short answer essays to 4 questions) in their overall review.

Also check out the decision thread to see what it take to get an acceptance:

Make sure you talk with your parents regarding college costs. UCLA gives no financial aid to OOS students, so expect to pay around $55K/year.

would you guys think moving there doing community college becoming a resident and then transferring to ucla would be a good option? Im trying to see what the best options for me are

This is from UCSD’s website on how to establish California residency for tuition purposes but it applies to all California public universities.
