What is the difference? UCLA is Comm Studies but Cal is Media Studies.
I guess the most obvious guess is that Cal focuses on the mass media only.
Which program is stronger? UCLA or CAL?

UCLA is generally considered to be better by those familiar with the communication programs, but Berkeley has a slightly better name for those not familiar with the specifics of the programs.

I’m not sure of the specific differences, but I suspect you’re on the right track.

UCLA, from what I hear, doesn’t consider students with less than a 3.9 GPA, and the average admitted GPA for Communications is something like 3.95. That’s, what, one B for your entire time at community college?

UCB media studies= it’s in fact the study of…you focus on the theory of media-its what the chairmen of the dept told me. I hear from current and past students that its filled with females who just want to be anchorwomen or the local weather girl

UCLA Comm= the application of…<—it’s referred to as being the better of the two. though i think its mainly because of UCLAs location and opportunities it offers students.

UCLA and Berkeley’s Comm programs are both filled with girls.
Girls are hotter at UCLA.
Los Angeles>Silicon Valley.

And thus, UCLA’s comm>UCB media studies.

^ Haha yesss good observation lakerforever24, academics, athletics, and girls!

Btw, go Lakers!
