<p>I am a transfer student and I was admitted to UCBerkeley and UCLA. I currently live in SoCal and my parents think UCB is better because of their high academic ranking. Even though UCLA was my first choice, they say its a waste to not go to Berkeley. But does it really make a difference in my future if I went to UCLA or UCB? </p>

<p>People tend to like UCLA better, i think. TEND being the key word.</p>
<p>If there's a difference at all, it's tiny. Go to the one you like more (if they're the same price).</p>
<p>It will make almost no difference in your life in the long-run. Go to the one you like.</p>
<p>If you want to go to UCLA go to UCLA. For your major, I doubt if there will be a huge difference. If possible, try to visit both campuses, sit in on classes, etc. so you can make an informed decision. </p>
<p>Berkeley is slightly more prestigious than UCLA; that is a fact. But it won't have a huge impact on your life...</p>
<p>Outside of the hallowed halls of CC, most people don't give a rat's tuchus about Berkeley's prestige compared to UCLA's prestige. It's more about you and your awesomeness.</p>
