Hello,
I have been accepted to both UCLA and USC (As well as fine art schools such as SAIC and CCA) for undergraduate in the fine arts program with a major in painting. I am most strongly considering UCLA and USC, as I want both a very strong and rigorous arts program as well as engaging and strong academic courses. I know UCLA has a powerhouse of an art program, featuring artists like Lari Pittman, and I am leading towards this school, but I want to be as educated as possible in both the Roski program at USC and the program at UCLA.

UCLA would overall be better for the fine arts based of just the rankings from each school. Ultimately UCLA would be the better pick overall pick due to it’s higher ranking in numerous categories in comparison to USC and it would be more bang for your buck (unless of course you got a better aid package for USC than UCLA). But you should choose a school based off other factors such as school size (UCLA is huge, and USC is huge for a private school), location, and cost.
