<p>I believe USC has a better pre-med program. It's a lot less competitive to get into a medical school from USC than it is to get in from UCLA. UCLA has way too many students, so it's hard for any pre-med student to graduate with a high GPA. I'm not sure if USC's system is like this, but UCLA curves grades, meaning you will be compared with everyone else in your class. Plus I've known many people with pretty high scores from UCLA who have been denied admissions to Med schools. This might also have to do with the amount of opportunity to volunteer/intern/observe/etc. at hospitals near the campuses. However, I'm not sure which school has more opportunities to do so...</p>
<p>In my opinion, I think USC has a better pre-med program because they really take care of you (private school, and all that jazz). I may be wrong, though, but in my opinion, I believe that going to USC will give you a better chance at achieving a high GPA for med school. Especially, again, because USC is a private school it will really take care of you.</p>
<p>I have a friend doing pre-med at Berkeley and she said that the competition is FIERCE and the classes are brutal.</p>
<p>USC pre-Med is better that ucla. I was pre-med and at 'SC it seemed that it was more chill than my friends who were at UC's. Don't get me wrong, the classes were most definitely challenging (I freaking hated baby Physics), but the students were more chill about it. USC does curve, but it's not a true curve. It's more find the mean, then grade out from there.</p>
<p>I also appreciate that USC encourages its pre-med students to major or minor in majors other than Bio or Chem. Personally, I doubled in Bio and Classics and it was great to not have to take all science classes. I had friends that minored in Cinema, and Business. One of the really cool programs USC offers is a semster at Catalina. USC owns the Wrigley institute and you can take a variety of Bio classes and get your diving certification. The friends I had who did that absolutely loved it.</p>
<p>I decided against med school in the end, but did get into 'SC and UCSD.</p>
<p>If money is not a concern to pay tuition, take USC. Smaller classes.</p>
